Dogs are now women's best friend.

Dogs may be replacing men in the women’s hearts. Several surveys have shown that women prefer their furry friend over their partners–and in some cases over other members of the family as well.

Leesa conducted a poll of more than 1,000, about cuddling preferences, which yielded interesting results. When asked about their top cuddling partner, participants of the poll placed pets on the top of their list. The data revealed the more women preferred cuddling with their pets than with their partner, romantic interest, or another family member.

According to Leesa‘s results, 58 percent of the women who participated preferred cuddling with their pets compared to 32 percent of women who preferred being with their partner. The percentage dropped further when it came to other family members (25 percent) and romantic interests (4.7 percent).

Stormy Daniels Fan Meet And Greet

Stormy Daniels is now expressing regret that she likened Donald Trump’s manhood to a type of mushroom because she says it wasn’t her intention to body shame him. In a 60 Minutes interview, Daniels says that she perhaps went too far when she mocked the size and shape of his genitals.

News.com Australia explains that Daniels felt bad when the comment went viral and turned into memes, videos, and jokes at Trump’s expense. She now thinks she could have made her point without the Mario Kart comparison.

“So I was very angry in writing that. And now that the book is out and people are reading about it, and it’s all over the internet I actually feel pretty terrible about it … in a way it’s body shaming.”

Interviewer Liz Hayes asked Daniels if it was her intention to humiliate Trump with the mushroom jokes.

A Mississippi high school band director has been suspended after a halftime performance that appeared to depict the killing of police officers, WJTV (Jackson) is reporting.

According to Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba, the director has been suspended indefinitely. However, he provided no further information, including the length of the director’s suspension, whether or not there will be an investigation, or even the band director’s name.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, on Friday night the Forest Hill High School football team and band came from Jackson to the town of Brookhaven to square off against Brookhaven High School on the gridiron. During the halftime show, Forest Hill’s band put on a show with a scene that appeared to depict students, dressed as doctors and nurses, holding toy guns and pointing them at two students, dressed as members of a SWAT team, on the ground. The students then pretended to shoot and kill the “SWAT team members.”

four states are considering legalizing pot

Of the 30 states that have legalized marijuana, either for medical or recreational purposes, many have legalized it through the regular legislative process, passing bills and/or constitutional amendments within the halls of state legislatures. Others have done so at the ballot box, putting the question to the voters.

Such will be the case with four states in the November 2018 election: as Forbes reports, Missouri, Utah, Michigan, and North Dakota voters will all vote on various marijuana-related issues at the ballot box on November 6.

Missouri

Residents of The Show Me State may soon be showing their medical marijuana cards at dispensary doors if New Approach Missouri gets their way. That’s because the group gathered enough signatures to put Proposition 2 on the November ballot.

Peter Smith, a longtime Republican opposition researcher, raised at least $100,000 just a month before the 2016 presidential election in an effort to obtain what he believed were more than 30,000 emails from Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton that had been hacked and stolen by Russian operatives, according to a Sunday Wall Street Journal exposé.

Russia investigation Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now “actively prob[ing]” Smith’s attempts to collaborate with Russia in obtaining the purportedly missing Clinton emails, WSJ reporter Dustn Volz states on his Twitter account.

The efforts made by Smith, 81, were uncovered in early 2017 by a WSJ reporter who tracked Smith down and interviewed him about his search for the supposed Clinton emails. Smith told the Journal that he was working for retired General Michael Flynn, who was then a top adviser to the Donald Trump campaign and later became Trump’s national security adviser — only to be forced out over his own Russia ties in February of 2017.

Pet passport will be mandatory in the Netherlands by 2020.

Pet passports will be required for dogs in the Netherlands by 2020. The Dutch government firmly believes that making pet passports mandatory will mitigate any illegal importation of dogs and protect them as well.

According to the international website named, I Am Expat, Carola Schouten–the Minister of Agriculture, Nature, and food Quality–fully supports pet passport requirement by 2020 in the Netherlands. She fully recognizes that the requirement can not be fulfilled overnight and will take time.

The pet passport will contain everything a person interested in buying or adopting a dog should have access to, like the original owners of the dog and his/her medical history. As such, the pet passport will not only serve as a travel document but a whole book about a dog’s history.

More And More People Are Choosing Ubers And Lyfts Over Ambulances

uber app on phone

While many have noted that independent services like Uber and Lyft are changing the way we view transportation and taxi services, they might be changing the way we look at ambulance rides as well. The New York Times reported that many lower-to-middle class people who lack immediate access to a car — or just can’t drive due to their current state — will choose Uber over ambulances almost every time.

This is a jarring reflection of how expensive quality medical care is in the United States. Many survey respondents said that a $1,000 ambulance ride would put them in debt, and they couldn’t afford the medical bills that come with getting immediate help. Uber and Lyft are often faster, and they don’t cost a fortune to call.

Despite the dangers surrounding the practice, some medical professionals are praising it.
