The Trump travel ban barring migration from some traditionally Muslim countries is preventing a Yemeni mother from saying goodbye to her terminally ill two year old — who is on life support in an Oakland, California, hospital. The child, Abdullah Hassan, was born in Yemen with a rare brain disease. He was brought by his father, a U.S. citizen, to his home of Stockton, California, in the hope of life-saving treatment — but the child’s case was deemed terminal.

The San Fransisco Chronicle says that Hassan can no longer breathe on his own. The family is ready to take him off of life support, but the child’s mother, Shaima Swileh, cannot get permission to travel to Oakland to hold Hassan’s hand, and to say goodbye to her toddler.

With the odds of a presidential impeachment on the rise, one man believes the action could find support from both Democrats and Republicans in the Senate.

According to CNBC’s Washington correspondent John Harwood, some Republicans may move to impeach President Donald Trump if charges are brought against him by the Democrats as a result of the special counsel’s investigation, Newsweek reported.

Harwood made his case during an edition of MSNBC’s Live with Alex Witt on Sunday, December 16, noting that while it would be an “uphill task” to recruit 20 Republicans for the two-thirds majority required to go forward with impeachment charges, it is not totally unreasonable.

“On the issue of impeachment, I do believe that Democratic leaders understand that that is where this is headed but they don’t want to appear too eager for it, that’s why they say wait for Mueller,” Harwood explained.

In addition to bringing indictments against nearly 40 individuals linked to the 2016 Donald Trump campaign or the Russian government as part of his investigation, as Vox.com compiled, Robert Mueller has also turned a financial profit for United States taxpayers from his ongoing probe. In fact, Mueller’s probe has at least potentially recovered almost twice as much cash as it has spent, according to a new analysis.

According to the analysis by the financial magazine Fortune, while the special counsel’s investigation over its first 16 months spent approximately $25 million, Mueller’s investigators will recover roughly $48 million in unpaid taxes and other assets from the tax fraud they have exposed.

A Missouri man will have to watch the movie Bambi at least once per month during his prison sentence as part of his punishment for poaching, the Springfield News-Leader is reporting.

David Berry Jr. is serving a one-year sentence for poaching and related crimes out of Lawrence County, as well as a 120-day sentence for poaching and similar crimes out of Barton County. Every 30 days during his incarceration, beginning on or before December 23, 2018, Berry must watch the 1942 Disney animated classic Bambi, about a young deer orphaned when a hunter shoots his mother.

That means he’ll be seeing the movie 15 times in the next 15 months unless he’s granted an early release.

Berry Jr. and two associates – his father, Berry Sr., and family member Kyle Berry – had for years carried out a poaching operation that Missouri officials say is one of the worst they’ve ever investigated. The trio’s crimes also extended into Kansas, Nebraska, and even Canada.

The cause of death for famed hairstylist to the stars, Oribe Canales, has been determined to be cardiac arrest. According to Radar Online, the stylist’s sister — Gracie Cuervo — has come forward to speak out regarding the passing of the beauty icon, one who worked with some of the top celebrities in the world.

“He was sick for just a few weeks,” Cuervo said. “It wasn’t like it was anything he had been struggling with for a long time. It was very fast. He ultimately went into cardiac arrest.”

According to Cuervo, Canales had been living in Miami at the time of his death; however, he could frequently be seen flying to New York to see a host of medical specialists. He was attempting to deal with complications surrounding a mysterious unidentified illness, one which his sister did not specify.

On Friday 33-year-old Alejandra Pablos had her green card revoked by a federal judge in Tucson, Arizona. Pablos first came to the United States from Nogales, Mexico, when she was just a baby. During the many years she has lived in the U.S., she became a legal permanent resident of America, and knows no other home.

But Judge Thomas Michael O’Leary was not interested. Instead, according to KTAR, he focused on the fact that she had criminal convictions between 2005 and 2010, and served two years in a detention center in Eloy, Arizona, for a DUI, endangerment, and solicitation to possess a dangerous drug.

Pablos is also an immigration rights activist, and has been working hard against the policies of the Trump administration to fight for those who are seeking asylum in the country due to terrible circumstances in their homelands. As the Washington Post reported, Pablos has been working for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health in Annandale, Virginia, since 2016.

Urban Resources Institute, the largest provider of domestic violence shelter and support services across the United States, announced at the end of October that they would be opening the country’s first ever fully pet-friendly shelter for victims of domestic abuse, PALS Place, in Brooklyn, New York.

As reported by Today’s Veterinary Practice, the seven-story building consists of 30 one- and two-bedroom apartments so that individuals and families are able to recover from domestic violence, all in the company of their beloved fur-babies. There is enough space for approximately 100 people at the emergency shelter.

Within the facility there is also a space for pet grooming and play, and a “unique animal-centric programming to help residents of all species thrive.”

Rick Antosh was just planning to stop for a simple lunch at a Manhattan restaurant but ended up leaving a few thousand dollars richer.

The New Jersey man met a friend at the Oyster Bar inside Grand Central Terminal earlier this month and ordered an oyster pan roast. As he was eating the meal, Antosh noticed something unusually hard as he bit into one of the oysters. As CBS News reported, the pea-shaped piece turned out to be a pearl worth thousands of dollars.

Antosh said that at first, he had no idea what it was he had found.

“We were engaged in conversation and all of a sudden, whoop, what is that?” Antosh told CBS New York.

“I didn’t bite on it, but I sensed something was odd. I thought maybe it was a filling or a tooth.”

Last week, Wendy George pleaded guilty to 10 counts of “obtaining property by false pretenses” or claiming to be pregnant to defraud prospective parents who are seeking to adopt a baby. But it was all a lie and the Carolina Beach, North Carolina woman was never even pregnant, so the money she took to cover housing costs and medical bills was all a scam.

The Charlotte Observer says that George’s scam started to unravel when a couple from Ohio called the police in North Carolina to check on a woman who was claiming to be pregnant and had contracted with them to adopt her baby after it was born. But it seems that George had posted on adoption websites across the country and making similar deals with other couples like the one from Ohio.

George was receiving funds from several couples for her pregnancy expenses despite the fact that she was never actually pregnant, and the test results she was sending were fraudulent.

Roger Stone, the longtime Trump confidant and Republican lobbyist who is very much the focus of Robert Mueller’s probe into whether or not Trump colluded with Russia, has admitted to spreading lies on InfoWars and has agreed to apologize immediately for the same, according to the Washington Post.

Stone has been struck with a $100 million defamation suit by Chinese businessman Guo Wengui, who is a vocal critic of Beijing. As part of the settlement, Stone, who admitted to spreading lies on the far-right website InfoWars, has also agreed to run apologies in national newspapers including The Wall Street Journal. He will only be made exempt from paying the damages if he also publishes a retraction of the false statements on social media, which he has agreed to do as well.

Since the Supreme Court ruling which made it legal for same-sex couples to marry, there has been an overall decrease in people opposing it across religious lines. For the first time in history, a majority of American Muslims are fine with same-sex marriages, but the same cannot be said of evangelical Christians, according to Newsweek.

The findings from the Public Religion Research Institute’s 2017 American Values Atlas, published Tuesday, showed that 51 percent of American Muslims now support gay marriage, while 34 percent oppose it. It is a sharp increase from four years ago when findings showed that 51 percent of American Muslims were opposed to gay marriages. The number has similarly decreased for black Protestants, who, up until four years ago, opposed same-sex marriages with a majority. While 54 percent of black Protestants were opposed to same-sex marriages in 2014, now the number stands at 43 percent.

CNN reporter Don Lemon has taken Donald Trump’s statements to task once again, commenting on how the president once boasted during his campaign that he would become the “law and order president.”

No, we are not talking about the long-running NBC series.

During Monday’s broadcast of CNN Tonight, Lemon aired some old footage of Trump repeatedly making a claim that he would restore law and order to the country, calling himself the “law and order president” during the 2016 election.

The Huffington Post reported that after each time Trump would utter that phrase, Lemon would add, “Except for me.”

“This president who says he’s all about law and order seems to have trouble separating what’s legal from what isn’t,” said Lemon.

He then listed some of the mounting legal woes that Trump could potentially face.

Tucker Carlson, one of Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters on national television, is facing backlash from advertisers after he made an insensitive remark about immigrants, according to Business Insider.

Carlson, who hosts Tucker Carlson Tonight, has seen at least five advertisers pulling out from his show after comments on immigration he made last Thursday.

Saying that America was being short-changed by other countries as only people with lower-level skills were coming to the county, Carlson blamed them for making the United States “poorer and dirtier.”

“Instead we’re getting waves of people with high school educations or less. Nice people, no one doubts that, but as an economic matter this is insane. It’s indefensible, so no one even tries to defend it,” he said.

“Instead our leaders demand that you shut up and accept this. We have a moral obligation to admit the world’s poor, they tell us, even if it makes our country poorer and dirtier and more divided.”

Back in January of 2017, former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was interviewed by the FBI at the White House. By December of that year, Flynn had pled guilty to lying to federal agents in that very interview — and now the notes on the meeting are being released for the first time to the public.

According to Business Insider, the FBI interview notes were requested by the judge on Flynn’s case, who deemed the previously redacted documents as useful in the sentencing process. Flynn’s sentencing will be determined on Tuesday for his crimes.

During the interview in January of 2017, Flynn was repeatedly asked about his past conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the weeks leading up to Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration. Every single time the Russian Ambassador was mentioned, Flynn denied ever speaking to him about a pending US resolution on Israel or Russian sanctions. This was later proven to be untrue.

The conservative filmmaker slammed the former U.S. first lady after a comment she made while promoting her memoir, Becoming, in London, according to the Daily Mail. When discussing her new work, which became the best-selling book of the year, with Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Obama explained that she had been in several meetings with many world leaders and powerful people and that they’re “not that smart.”

“I have been at probably every powerful table that you can think of. I have worked at nonprofits, I have been at foundations, I have worked in corporations, served on corporate boards, I have been at G-summits, I have sat in at the UN. They are not that smart,” she said.

But in all fairness, former New Jersey superior court judge Andrew Napolitano, who is now a legal expert on Fox, is viewed as level-headed who only makes his comments based on the facts on hand. So when Napolitano says that he expects Donald Trump to be indicted, it won’t be music to the president’s ears.

Speaking to Fox News host Shepherd Smith, Napolitano believes that special counsel Robert Mueller has enough evidence to request a grand jury subpoena Donald Trump – in which case he would be compelled to provide testimony in court, reports the Independent.

“I think that Bob Mueller knows that he needs to lock the president into a version of events before he takes the next step, whatever the next step is, whether it’s an indictment or referral,” Napolitano said.

President Donald Trump’s staff shakeups have been a constant subject of news headlines throughout his presidency, but Mike Huckabee, Newsweek reported, has a simple reason for why there is such a high turnover — people just can’t seem to keep up with the president.

During Fox Business‘s Monday airing of Mornings With Maria on December 17, show host Maria Bartiromo noted the most recent departures from the Trump administration — Chief of Staff John Kelly and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, whose resignation was announced by the president just this weekend. She did so while also displaying a chart showing the faces of all 35 people that have either resigned, or been fired, from the administration thus far.

Bartiromo turned the subject to her guest for the morning, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, asking him his opinion of the seemingly excessive turnover within the Trump administration.
