Perhaps because of her left-leaning political views or her young age, newly-sworn in Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has garnered a lot of criticism from various media outlets. Aside from a recent attempt to discredit her reputation with an unearthed video of her dancing, an alleged nude picture of the congresswoman has been making the rounds. Thankfully, some crafty and detail-oriented Reddit users came to the forefront to defend Cortez.

As reported by Motherboard, an image of a woman in a bathtub surfaced on Reddit’s r/Drama subreddit. The photo, which showcases a woman’s feet and legs, is fairly tame, though if you were to zoom in on the reflection from the faucet, you would find an image of the woman’s breasts. On this particular Reddit thread, some were claiming the image was sourced from Ocasio-Cortez’s Instagram account.

An 18-month old boy wandered barefoot through the streets for several hours after escaping the family home through a cat flap.

The incident took place in the town of Torquay, in the south-western English county of Devon, according to the Sun. The boy’s parents apparently did not notice that he was missing and were oblivious to his plight until police knocked on their front door.

The boy is believed to have been outside for several hours before a worried neighbor spotted him and took him in. He said the boy was cold, pale, and confused and he gave him warm clothes and shoes while allowing him to play with his own 3-year old daughter while he called the police.

While popular streaming platform Twitch is most commonly associated with video games — and by extension, Fortnite— there are a handful of streamers who provide other reasons to watch, such as those who showcase their extremely over-the-top personalities, or streamers who opt to wear revealing clothing in order to titillate their fanbase.

Last week, a streamer caught the attention of Twitch staff members, which ended with a temporary ban to his account, as reported by Kotaku.

Joseph “Mango” Marquez, widely considered to be one of the best competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee players around, found himself on an unplanned — and unpaid — vacation this week after reportedly drinking too much while streaming this past Sunday.

Marquez took to Twitter to share the news, tweeting a screenshot of his correspondence from Twitch, which informed him why his channel was being taken down. His account had been hit with a week-long suspension after he passed out while on stream.

In advance of Donald Trump’s Oval Office speech tonight on prime time television, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joked during his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan that the president will “make a lot of news” with the topics in the preview draft of his talk with the country.

The Daily Mail reports that Pompeo was in Amman to meet with the king and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. Pompeo was all smiles as he suggested that people will have a lot to talk about after the speech which he previewed today.

“It’s going to be about the border, mostly…. I saw an early version of it. He will make a lot of news.”

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal by a mystery foreign firm, forcing the firm to continue paying hefty fines for contempt of court as it continues to refuse to answer Mueller’s subpoena.

The unnamed company, which has been listed in court filings as belonging to “Country A,” has refused to turn over requested documents to United States investigators, incurring daily fines as it challenged Mueller’s subpoena in court. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts issued a temporary stay on the fines last week while the Court considered the company’s appeal, but the Court today issued an unsigned order refusing to dismiss the citation. There were no known dissents within the Supreme Court’s order, according to CNN.

Paul Manafort is having a very rough time in prison, his lawyer claims.

The former chair of Donald Trump’s campaign, in prison after being convicted on a number of tax fraud charges, is suffering from depression and anxiety as well as a severe and painful case of gout, Manafort’s lawyers said in new court filings. As the New York Post reported, Manafort has been kept in solitary confinement, which his lawyers claim is having a detrimental effect on his mental and physical health.

The court filing noted that Manafort’s conditions have sometimes disabled him.

“As just one example, for several months Mr. Manafort has suffered from severe gout, at times confining him to a wheelchair,” the filing read.

“He also suffers from depression and anxiety and, due to the facility’s visitation regulations, has had very little contact with his family.”

A 9-year-old autistic boy at Wurtland Elementary School, Kentucky, was subject to awful abuse by his teacher in a way no child should ever have to deal with. On Sunday, Angel Nelson shared video footage of her son’s teacher dragging him by the arm down a hallway in front of his classmates.

She was horrified to discover what her son had been subjected to, and fortunately, so was the school board. The teacher, who has been identified as Trina Abrams, was fired from the school after the incident came to light, and she now also faces assault charges over her treatment of the boy, according to a report by NBC News.

On Tuesday, little Jazmine Barnes was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony over a week after she was brutally gunned down on December 30 in her mother’s car in Houston. The 7-year-old girl was traveling with her mother and two sisters on an early morning coffee run when a man started randomly shooting into their car, hitting the little girl in the head and killing her.

The shooting has devastated the Houston area, with police combing through thousands of tips in their search for the killer. Two days before her funeral, Eric Black Jr. was charged with capital murder. On Tuesday, the day of her funeral, a second man, 24-year-old Larry Woodruffe, was also charged with capital murder, according to a report by AOL.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is planning to leave his position at the Department of Justice upon the confirmation of the new prospective AG William Barr, who is scheduled to participate in hearings next week.

ABC News broke the story that Rosenstein is planning his exit and has notified Donald Trump about his intention, according to sources familiar with the deputy AG’s plans.

“Sources told ABC News Rosenstein wants to ensure a smooth transition to his successor and would accommodate the needs of Barr, should he be confirmed.”

There is no indication at this time that Rosenstein was forced out, and the man with his finger on the pulse of the Mueller investigation has allegedly been transparent in his intention to leave the Trump Attorney General’s office after serving two years.

After AG Jeff Sessions was fired by Trump, many people assumed that Rosenstein would follow suit, but he stayed on despite the president’s appointment of an interim AG, Matt Whitaker.

The ordeal has prompted law enforcement officials to launch an investigation to explore allegation of sexual abuse by a male staff member, and now, the Washington Post has reported that local police have obtained a warrant to test the DNA of the men working in the facility.

This latest development follows the resignation — which was unanimously accepted — by the CEO of Hacienda Healthcare, Bill Timmons. A California family is glad they purchased a home security system a few months ago, now that their new camera caught a stranger allegedly licking their doorbell for three hours.

As KION-TV (Monterey) reports, homeowner Sylvia Dungan just purchased her home security system a few weeks ago. And this week, the new system paid off.

Dungan says that she was out of town while her children were still staying in their Salinas home. It was early in the morning, about 5 a.m., when she got a text message alert that there was movement in front of her door. Checking her camera remotely, she was aghast at what she saw: a prowler licking the doorbell.

Dungan’s children were inside asleep and did not wake up from the commotion. The children’s ages are not clear.

President Trump, the day after his Oval Office address demanding funding from Congress for a wall, issued a threat Wednesday to pull funding for forest management. But in doing so, he spelled the word “forest” wrong.

In a since-deleted tweet, the president issued a threat towards the home state of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Billions of dollars are sent to the state of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen. Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!”

Trump deleted the tweet, most likely due to the typo; he later reposted it with the word “forest” spelled correctly, although he left in the strange capitalization. But the move to delete the tweet didn’t go unnoticed, inspiring a whole lot of Forrest Gump jokes, mostly because he spelled it “Forrest,” and “Trump” rhymes with “Gump.”

Fox 59 shares that, this past Sunday, a massive 18-wheeler truck crashed on Alabama 35 near the Georgia line. It just so happens that the truck in question was carrying chicken tenders, tenders which subsequently spilled onto the highway. Some motorists decided to stop their vehicles to pick up some of the fallen chicken tenders, causing somewhat of a traffic jam.

Believe it or not, this prompted the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency to post a public service announcement on their Facebook page — telling passing motorists to quit stopping their vehicles in order to gather boxes of chicken tenders for their own dinners.

“The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking that no one try to stop to get the chicken tenders that were spilled from the 18 wheeler accident last night on Highway 35. You’re creating a traffic hazard! It’s a crime to impede the flow of traffic.”

Wesley Dasher Scott is making national headline news today after claiming that three syringes found hidden in his rectum were not his. Scott was arrested on a warrant stemming from a drug charge in Clearwater, Florida.

While his arrest is just one of many throughout the day across the nation, it was the excuse he offered that stood out amongst the masses. Scott found himself arrested in the early hours of Friday morning.

The 40-year-old was first searched out in a field, where he was taken into custody. He was asked by a deputy at that time if he had anything hidden on his body. He was then transported to the Pinellas County Jail on a drug charge, and was then booked.

According to WFLA News, a deputy said Scott was given the chance to come clean. The deputy also said Scott was fully aware of the consequences if he was caught hiding contraband.

A former LSU football player lost his leg last month after a dog shot him while they were hunting, The Clarion Ledger reported. The accident took place in late December, near Eagle Lake in Mississippi.

Matt Branch, who played on LSU’s football team from 2009 to 2011, suffered the injury while on a hunting outing December 28, along with a group of friends who made the trip annually. According to the account provided by a friend of Branch’s, the dog was a Labrador retriever named Tito, a member of the hunting party.

The group of hunters were loading their weapons on the bed of a truck, when the dog walked over, stepped on the safety of Branch’s shotgun and pulled the trigger. The shot struck Branch through the bed of the truck.

An 86-year-old Florida woman is accused of beating her 89-year-old husband to death with a cane, and police say that she is confused and possibly not competent to stand trial.

As the Pensacola News Journal reports, police arrested Ramona Lund, 86, after they came to believe that she beat her husband, 89-year-old Francis Joseph Lund, to death with a cane.

Neighbors first called the police when they noticed Mrs. Lund standing over the bloodied body of her husband. Believing at first that the man had fallen and that Ramona was trying to help him up, one neighbor attempted to perform CPR on the man while another called 911.

However, when first responders arrived, they found a walking cane covered in blood as well as blood in a bucket in the living room and on a nightgown belonging to Ramona. Police also allegedly found blood on Ramona herself, on her feet and hands.

As reported by the Inquisitr, Disney purchased 965 acres of ranch land near Celebration, Florida — which isn’t too far away from its Walt Disney World Resort. Now, it appears as if the house of Mickey Mouse isn’t quite done, as the company has purchased another 1,500 or more acres in Osceola County. The purchase is said to be a sum of $11 million.

This land transaction is one that has been in the works for a very long time — and better yet, is one that Disney has wanted to happen for decades.

One point of contention coming from President Trump and his supporters — when it comes to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation — is that Mueller and former FBI director James Comey are “best friends,” per the Washington Post. This means, therefore, that Mueller has a conflict of interest — in that some part of the probe likely concerns issues related to Trump’s firing of Comey in 2017. Trump once even alleged that he “could give you a hundred pictures of him and Comey hugging and kissing each other.”

However, it turns out that Comey and Mueller, who is also a former FBI director, aren’t really all that close.

An Alaskan toddler now uses her family’s 100-pound Pitbull as her security blanket following a large earthquake and thousands of aftershocks. The girl’s father, Kyle Leary, caught his daughter Adalynn on a video monitor tucking the dog into her little toddler bed for the night.

The Daily Mail shared the sweet story of the Leary family and their dog, Fury, in an Alaskan town which has become all too familiar with earthquakes. Adalynn Leary sleeps in a toddler bed which generally has room for one toddler and perhaps a stuffed bear, but to quell her anxiety, she tucks in with Fury, making sure that her “fur baby” has plenty of blankets to sleep for the night.

Kyle Leary says that after the 7.0 earthquake hit their home, little Adalynn refused to sleep without her “best friend and body guard” Fury. Following the initial quake, to date they have lived through 5,000 aftershocks, leaving the little one stressed.
