Cody Wilson, the Texas man whose distribution of 3-D printer blueprints for guns has caused a recent stir, has been arrested in Taiwan reported the New York Times.
Wilson was arrested by Taiwanese authorities after the police in Texas charged the 30-year-old with sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl, as reported by the Inquisitr yesterday.
Police in Taiwan arrested Wilson in the Wanhua district of the country who then handed him over to the National Immigration Agency to prepare for his extradition back to Texas.
On Wednesday police in Austin, Texas announced that Wilson hadn’t boarded his flight back to the United States after the announcement of the charges against him was made in the Texas capital. That saw the authorities in Texas mark Wilson as a fugitive and enlisted the services of the U.S. Marshalls and their Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to find him, which was quickly done alongside the work of the Taiwanese authorities.
California Democrat Gavin Newsom took to Twitter today to launch a verbal attack at President Trump, The Hill reports.
Newsom’s comments are, in fact, a response to remarks President Trump recently made at a rally, when he called the California gubernatorial candidate a clown.
“Democrats want to give welfare and free healthcare to illegal aliens. How about this clown in California who’s running for governor? He wants open borders and then he wants to give them health care, education, everything.”
“Interesting description coming from the guy who is literally locking up kids like Pennywise,” Gavin Newsom wrote, saying hi to President Trump, provoking the POTUS with a clown emoji.
IGN described Pennywise, the creepy clown from Stephen King’s IT, as the “ultimate villain.” In King’s novel, Pennywise, It, or Pennywise the Dancing Clown is an evil being that turns up in 27-year cycles in the town of Derry, Maine. In the novel, Pennywise’s principal purpose is murdering children.
Surveillance footage released to the public by the Police Department in Waukesha, Wisconsin, earlier this week, shows the moment that a suspect brought in on suspicion of theft was successful in escaping from the city’s precinct thanks to her ability to free herself from her handcuffs.
Officers placed 30-year-old Amber Gonzalez under arrest after they checked the cameras at the Baymont Hotel on East Moorland Road and were able to identify her as the person who allegedly swiped a cellphone from one of the housekeepers’ carts last Friday, September 14.
After Hurricane Florence hit the Carolina Coast last week, the National Hurricane Center has revealed that it is monitoring four disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Four potential storms have appeared in the Atlantic, signaling an end to the period of calm in the area following Florence. All four storms have the potential to develop into a tropical storm or hurricane — but so far none of them have received that designation, nor a name.
One disturbance has been given a 60 percent chance of developing into such a storm within a week — thankfully it is the storm that is the furthest away. That potential storm is currently sitting just off the coast of Africa, 600 miles southeast of the Cape Verde Islands.
One of the top lawyers to represent President Trump up until six months ago is reported to have once floated the idea of diverting money from the White House legal defense fund to cover Paul Manafort and Richard Gates’ legal fees, according to a report published by the Wall Street Journal on Friday, September 21.
Prior to his resignation in March, John Dowd was primarily known for his role as the lead attorney backing Trump in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election. Several key developments have taken shape since Dowd’s exit from the team, including the conviction of Manafort on eight counts of bank and tax fraud only weeks before he struck a plea deal to avoid a trial that would have sought to nail him for witness tampering and failure to register as a lobbyist for a foreign country.
Three people have been charged with child abuse after police in Alabama found a 13-year-old boy naked and chained in his family’s home.
The incident took place in Prattville, where police said the boy was discovered after someone made an anonymous call suspecting abuse. As the Associated Press reported on WTOP’s website, deputies from the Autauga County Sheriff’s Department found that the boy was naked and had chains padlocked around his ankles. They believe that the boy had been in the chains for several hours.
“After arrival of deputies a 13-year-old male juvenile was found naked with chains padlocked around his ankles which were attached to a door preventing him from normal movement,” Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger told the Montgomery Advertiser. “Subsequent investigation revealed that the child had been restrained by this method over a long period of time.”
Animal removal business Virginia Wildlife Management and Control has shared on Facebook photos of a rare creature: a two-headed snake. The copperhead was found last week at a resident’s backyard in Woodbridge, Virginia.
WTVR reported that the copperhead was examined at the veterinary hospital Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro, where imaging revealed more details about the reptile.
A spokesperson for the center said that the left head of the animal appears more dominant as it tends to be more active and responsive to stimulus. The left head also has the dominant esophagus, while the right head has a more developed throat for eating.
“Radiographs revealed that the two-headed snake has two tracheas [the left one is more developed], two esophaguses [the right one is more developed], and the two heads share one heart and one set of lungs,” the spokesperson said.
Fox News reports that Shawn Christy, the man who allegedly threatened to shoot Donald Trump on June 19, before becoming a fugitive, was found and arrested on Friday. Apparently, the manhunt began on Sunday when officials were alerted to Christy’s presence in Ohio. Just five days later, on Friday, Christy reportedly was cornered and surrendered to police north of Mansfield, Ohio.
Christy’s murder threats were allegedly posted in June via Facebook. Since then, the posts have been removed, but apparently, he threatened to shoot both Trump and John M. Morganelli, district attorney of Northhampton County, Pennsylvania.
“Keep it up Morganelli, I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump,” said Christy in his Facebook post.
It seems as soon as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, the talk about another royal baby started making the rounds, and now the same sources that are spreading buzz about Meghan Markle being pregnant with twins are saying that Kate Middleton is pregnant already with a fourth baby, which is not the case.
Gossip Cop is giving the Kate Middleton rumor a credibility rating of zero on a scale of fiction to fact, but that isn’t stopping certain outlets from reporting it as a certainty saying that the Duchess of Cambridge already is starting to show.
“Kate Middleton is not pregnant with her fourth baby, despite a made-up tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can debunk the false claim. We’ve learned the Duchess and Prince William aren’t expecting another child at the moment.”
Nicholas Thrash is headed to prison for the next 100 years after the 34-year-old Indiana man was found guilty of repeatedly molesting and raping a 10-year-old girl, which led to her becoming pregnant.
Thrash was handed a sentence of 160 years in prison and will more than likely spend the rest of his life behind bars, Fox News reported. A judge ordered that he serve a minimum of 132 years, keeping him in prison until 2050 barring the conviction being overturned.
In a trial in August, Thrash was convicted of 10 counts of child molestation, the report noted. The victim claimed that Thrash molested her at least 15 times, including raping her.
Deputy Prosecutor Lisa Glancy described said they were pleased with the guilty verdict against Thrash, but know that the victim still faces a difficult journey ahead.
“It’s something little compared to what (the victim) has gone through and what she will go through,” Glancy told the Chronicle-Tribune.
A Lodi, New Jersey, man died from West Nile virus on Saturday, reports Fox News. A spokesperson for the New Jersey Board of Health confirmed the death on Friday, making this the first confirmed death from West Nile virus in that state this year.
Fred Maikisch, 62, was the patient who passed away, and he was diagnosed with the virus just a few weeks ago. An MRI showed there was no hope of recovery for Fred the day before he died, his sister posted on Facebook. West Nile virus is carried by mosquitoes. Symptoms include a rash, headache, body aches, vomiting, diarrhea, and other symptoms. Not everyone who contracts the virus shows these symptoms, and most people who do contract it recover.
“About 1 in 150 people who are infected develop a severe illness affecting the central nervous system such as encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) or meningitis (inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord),” according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
A man thought to be responsible for raping women across Northern California in a series of brutal crimes that started 27 years ago was arrested earlier this week after DNA evidence led police to the suspect, according to USA Today.
Roy Charles Waller of Benicia was arrested Thursday morning in Berkley, where he works at the University of California as a safety specialist and manages training for equipment and machinery. The suspect is thought to be the so-called NorCal rapist, and is believed to be responsible for at least 10 cases of sexual assault between 1991 and 2006. According to District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, the attacks took place in Sonoma, Yolo, Contra Costa, Butte, and Sacramento counties.
Residents in Flushing, Queens, were woken up shortly before 4 a.m. on Friday morning to screaming and “loud thuds” from a home nearby. A short while later, they heard cries for help from a residence that is run as a day care center.
As the New York Times reported, police swarmed the building just moments later, and stumbled a scene reminiscent of a horror movie inside the house. Five people had been stabbed, including three infants ranging in age from just 3-days-old to 1-month-old. The employee of the day care who had allegedly stabbed them had them cut her own wrists.
Police said the stabbings had occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. that morning. The three babies were taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The two adult victims of the stabbing are a female coworker of the day care worker who was stabbed repeatedly in the torso, and a father of one of the babies. All five victims are considered to be in “critical but stable condition.”
A woman vacationing in Spain started feeling ill and felt pain in her genital area, so she went to a local medical center to be checked out by a doctor.
Their diagnosis: she had a dead tortoise in her vagina.
The bizarre case happened on the island of Tenerife and prompted an investigation by local police, the New York Post reported. The British woman had been partying with a group of friends and said she started to feel odd shortly afterward, the report noted.
After several days, the discomfort intensified and the woman found her way to a local emergency room. What happened next is not entirely clear. The Sun noted that a number of local Spanish publications reported that doctors found a dead tortoise, though some reports suggested that it was actually a smaller turtle. But the British newspaper could not independently verify any of these claims, and the hospital said it could not comment.
A jury in Georgia has awarded a young boy nearly $31 million after a botched circumcision resulted in part of his penis being severed, leaving him with what doctors say will be a permanent disfigurement.
The jury came to the decision on Friday, compensating the 5-year-old after a procedure at Life Cycle Pediatrics went awry. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, attorneys representing the boy’s family said the boy will suffer a lifetime of mental anguish because of his deformed penis, which causes “physical pain from chronic scabbing.”
An attorney representing the midwife and doctor who performed the procedure told the jury that $1 million would be sufficient to cover the lifetime medical expenses, but the family’s attorney argued that he will face a lifetime of hardships because of the deformity, including pain and difficulty having children. It will also inhibit his ability to form romantic relationships later in life, the family’s attorney claimed.
Bestselling author and Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi blasted Senate judiciary committee chair Chuck Grassley for trying to reach out to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford on Twitter.
Ford has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her while they were in high school, an allegation Trump’s Supreme Court nominee has vehemently denied. Ford has expressed a willingness to testify before the Senate judiciary committee ahead of Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote, but her lawyers have made certain demands, including “that Kavanaugh testify first, that the committee call additional witnesses that Ford requests, and that only senators be allowed to ask questions,” as reported by the Guardian. She has also demanded that Kavanaugh not be present when she testifies.
The Senate judiciary committee staff are still negotiating the terms for her testimony. But Grassley, who leads the committee, pressed Ford to make up her mind as quickly as possible — on Twitter.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
Sixty-eight-year-old former CBS boss Les Moonves fell from No. 4 on the Hollywood Reporter‘s “100 Most Powerful People in Entertainment” list to not even appearing on this year’s list.
Moonves recently stepped down after shocking revelations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior at CBS came to light, despite him denying the allegations.
Moonves has been accused by a dozen women of abuse or misconduct through the 1980s and early 2000s.
The women told reporter Ronan Farrow of The New Yorker that Moonves forced them to perform oral sex, exposed himself to them without their consent and often used physical violence and threatened to damage their careers in order to get what he wanted.
The network reportedly was set to pay Moonves $100 million to leave the company.
Former Trump staffer Jason Miller was accused in court this week of impregnating, then secretly dosing a woman he met in an Orlando strip club with abortion-inducing drugs, according to Splinter.
Court documents allege that Miller had an affair with an Orlando woman and upon finding out she was pregnant, secretly dosed her with abortion-inducing drugs which, according to that woman, led to the loss of the pregnancy and nearly her own life.
This accusation is the latest messy chapter in the ongoing custody trial between two Trump 2016 campaign, staffers Jason Miller and A.J. Delgado, according to Talking Points Memo.
The documents allege that in 2012 Miller, who was then working for Republican ad firm Jamestown Associates, would often bring clients to Rachel’s Gentleman’s Club in Orlando. That’s where Miller met the woman only identified in documents as Jane Doe.
The documents Delgato filed claim that Jane Doe became pregnant. The documents read as follows.
Some cocaine smugglers picked the wrong box of bananas to hide their stash.
The crates of the fruit showed up at the Ports of America in Texas meant as a donation for the prison system, but as a pair of sergeants with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice started to unload the boxes they discovered that there was $18 million worth of cocaine hidden inside, KHOU11 reported.
The pair noticed that something felt off about the boxes, and when they cut open the binding to look inside they found a bundle of a white substance hidden beneath the bananas. They found more and more of the bundles, until they pulled out a total of 540 packages. In total, the cocaine was worth close to $18 million, the New York Daily News reported.
The department took pictures of the haul and shared it on Facebook with a mocking message for the drug smugglers.
Controversial Fox News host Laura Ingraham called for President Trump to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on her show Friday night.
Ingraham’s rage was sparked by a recent New York Times report that Rosenstein attempted to invoke the 25th amendment to remove the President from office after then-FBI director James Comey was fired on May 9, 2017.
The story also alleges Rosenstein proposed secretly recording the President via wearing a wire during future visits to the White House.
The report says that Rosenstein made the comments in the story to then-acting FBI director Andrew McCabe, who was later fired in March of 2018 for leaking to the media.
McCabe chronicled Rosenstein’s statements in personal memos he’s still in possession of, according to the NYT sources for the story.
“Rod Rosenstein must be fired today,” Ingraham wrote on Twitter “He needs to go. Today.”
Ingraham continued later in her show.
